JetBlue Airways yesterday began daily nonstop service to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Beginning June 1, the low-fare airline continues its expansion in the D.R., adding a second daily nonstop flight between the two cities.
Crystal International Travel Group, Inc. has entered a 30-day exclusivity period with Mexicana Airlines to finalize terms of a partnership program with Crystal’s IntelliFares service. Fabrizzio Busso-Campana, Mexicana’s CEO, said that the two companies are working together to balance the planning features of IntelliFares with Mexicana’s air service.
JetBlue is currently exploring a variety of ways to better serve business travelers “We believe that low fares, improving access to content, fare flexibility and quality seat assignments for those who book at the last minute are elements at the top of the list of features travel managers and travel agents find most valuable,” a JetBlue spokesman said in statement to Travel Pulse Daily.
As a prelude to future cooperation, TAM and Lufthansa have signed a memorandum of understanding. In the coming months, the two airlines will be testing diverse forms of working together. As a first step, they are instituting codeshare flights on national and international routes.
