Jet Airways and American Airlines have launched their codeshare and frequent-flyer program reciprocity. American Airlines will now market and place its code on Jet Airways flights between Delhi and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Chennai (Madras), Hyderabad, Kolkata (Calcutta) and Mumbai (Bombay).

Air Canada’s parent said it has been approached by private equity and pension funds about acquiring the airline, and that the company isn’t ruling out consolidation with a U.S. carrier, according to Bloomberg.

Continental Airlines announced that it has entered into an agreement with LiveTV, L.L.C. (LiveTV) that will allow Continental to offer 36 channels of live, in-flight satellite-based television programming provided by DIRECTV(R), the satellite television provider in U.S., at every seat on Continental’s new generation aircraft. The service is expected to be available to customers on flights operating within the continental United States beginning in January 2009.
