Galileo has signed a new full content agreement with Spanish carrier Iberia. The agreement will see all of Iberia’s published fares and inventory, including its web fares, continue to be made available to all users of the Galileo system worldwide.
The new discount airline in Columbus wants to fly beyond the U.S. borders. In an application with the federal Transportation Department, Skybus says it wants to offer service to Cancun, Mexico, and Nassau in the Bahamas.
American Airlines said it has moved up the delivery of six additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft into the first half of 2009.
Brazil’s largest airline, TAM, said it agreed to buy 22 A350 extra wide body jets from Airbus for delivery from 2013 to 2018. In a statement, TAM said it also acquired an option to purchase 10 more of the A350 jets and exercised an existing option to buy four A330 jets to be delivered by Airbus in 2010 and 2011.
Delta Air Lines hopes to expand its service from New York (Kennedy Airport) to the Caribbean and Latin America with five new nonstop routes for the winter season.
This winter, Lufthansa customers will benefit from additional services to South America. From 28 October 2007, when the winter timetable goes into effect, Lufthansa will operate five nonstop flights a week from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires and will thus once again be offering a direct connection to Argentina, without a stopover.
