It’s easy for travelers to get to Aruba too as the island enjoys direct air service from most major airlines including American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, US Airways, United Airlines, Continental Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

Mexicana de Aviacion, Mexico’s first airline and leader in the international market, announced it has launched its new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon twice a week. The service kicked off March 17.

Spirit, classifying itself as an “ultra low-cost carrier,” said it lowered its fares by as much as 40 percent in March, but as of June 20 will begin charging passengers up to $10 apiece for their first two checked bags and $1 for juice, soda, coffee and tea.

American Eagle is beginning a service flying between Miami International Airport and Cozumel International Airport.

Chile’s LAN was chosen as the premier airline in Central and South America by U.S. magazine Global Traveler. The company received the award based on a reader survey conducted by the magazine between February and August of last year.

Air Canada will operate its first new Boeing 777 aircraft on key routes serving Europe, Asia and the South Pacific. As the airline begins introduction in April of the first of eight new 777 aircraft to be delivered in 2007, it will immediate place these aircrafts on select Air Canada services to London, Frankfurt and Tokyo.
