Spanish federal judge Fernando Grande Marlaska closed the file on investigations over Air Madrid’s President and CEO Jose Luis Carrillo and other top-brass execs from that airline for allegedly selling plane tickets after they knew the company was just about to be shut down. In his decision, Judge Carrillo stated he found no criminal evidence against the Air Madrid’s front office and discarded any need to press complementary charges. The decision is entitled to an appeal three days from now.

The Government of Montserrat says it has agreed a one year contract with Winair to continue providing air services to Montserrat. That means the airline will continue to provide scheduled flights in and out of Geralds Airport until July 2008.

Seaborne Airlines, based in St. Croix with scheduled seaplane services within the U.S. Virgin Islands and to San Juan, will launch weekend seaplane flights to North Sound on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands on July 6.

The management of Air Jamaica has confirmed that it will enter into a code share agreement with Virgin Atlantic on 30 October 2007, in which the Air Jamaica code will be placed on all Virgin Atlantic flights between London Gatwick and Jamaica.

Brazilian airline VRG S.A., the GOL-controlled carrier operating the VARIG brand, will begin offering a second daily flight to Frankfurt on June 16, adding seven additional daily flights per week to the German city.
