Barry Liben, CEO of Travel Leaders Group, warned of the potential impact on travel from the possible sequestration that could occur in March. The threatened sequestration could impose flight delays and other problems impacting the travel industry. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has warned of staff furloughs and facility shut-downs if the sequestration is allowed to happen.

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has signed off on a 40-year lease of Puerto Rico's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport to Aerostar Airport Holdings LLC. The deal for the Caribbean's busiest airport, with nearly 9 million passengers a year, is valued at $2.57 billion.

Trade unions representing downtrodden Spain-based group Orizonia will meet Monday with the General Labor Division in an effort to hasten the Employment Regulation File that could eventually make employees have fast-tracked access to possible benefits for furloughed workers.
