Brazil is stepping up its cooperation with the government of St Lucia, buoyed by a trade volume of around $3 billion per year between the two countries.

Cruise giant Carnival has signed on to stay in the River City. Local TV station WTEV-47 has learned Carnival signed another one year contract with Jacksonville Port Authority for the Dames Point Terminal. That contract includes an option to extend to 2014 and other options.

Chile's LAN Airlines said Friday it has completed its takeover of Brazilian airline TAM, creating Latin America's biggest airline, LATAM Airlines Group. The deal began in May and concluded following a share exchange.
