The Dominican National Hotel and Restaurant Association (ASONAHORES) and Tourism Promotion Council (CPT) have announced the official dates and locations for Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2005. This year´s event is scheduled for April 6 to 8.

The Acapulco Tourism Tianguis (Marketplace) 2005 –Mexico´s largest tourism trade fair- is expected to host its largest and most successful fair ever this year, on its 30th anniversary.
From April 10 to 13, this international fair, taking place in the Pacific resort city of Acapulco, will host 1,100 buyers and 19,000 appointments in the 425 business suites on site at the show using a high-tech online appointment system.
To better promote the island as a top business and leisure destination and to educate tour operators from around the globe about what the island can offer, St. Kitts will be hosting a symposium for tour operators from Thursday, May 12 to Sunday, May 15, 2005.
During the four-day event, tour operators will participate in a marketplace for wholesalers, dinner receptions, brainstorming sessions, island news updates, one-on-one meetings with key tourism partners from St. Kitts, presentations from hotels, airlines, wholesalers and destination management companies, and have to opportunity to speak with Richard O. The 13th edition of the Expocaribe Fair, Cuba´s second-largest trade show, will unfold from June 19 to 24 at its traditional venue: the Heredia Conference Center in Santiago de Cuba.

The Organizing Committee of the International Ecuadorian Tourism Fair (FITE 2005) has just wrapped up the third preparatory meeting to tie up possible loose ends as far as organization, logistics and attendance are concerned. The fair will take place in Guayaquil from September 22 to 25.

The Yechana Lodge Hotel in the Ecuadorian province of Napo and the country´s Tourism Ministry received top honors in the categories of sustainable tourism and best exposition, respectively, during the recently concluded International Tourism Fair in Berlin.
The ITB jury recognized the Yachana Lodge Hotel -yachana means a place to learn in Quichua language- for fostering interaction between guests and the surrounding environment. The establishment is perched on a mountain community along the Napo River banks and is run by the Comprehensive Education and Development Foundation.
