Entrepreneurs from the Dominican Republic will hold next week their premier annual meeting on the marketing and advertisement of tourist services in an effort to clinch a bigger inflow of sunbathers in the year 2005.
A turnout of over a thousand tour operators, tourism companies, airline representatives and travel agents from some twenty countries, more than 2,000 national providers and representatives from nearly 700 Mexican firms wrapped up Mexico’s Travel Marketplace in Acapulco.
The Mexican Caribbean was the most talked-about travel destination in Acapulco’s Tourism Marketplace –now ranking as Mexico’s premier travel tradeshow and the seventh largest all over the world- and officials are now hoping to see hotel fares rise as a result of it, said Artemio Santos, tourism secretary in the state of Quintana Roo.
The Partners’ General Ordinary Assembly of the Ecuador Hotel Federation (AHOTEC is the acronym in Spanish) will take place this weekend in Quito’s Sebastian Hotel.
According to the AHOTEC statutes, the Assembly ought to receive the president’s annual report on activities and the economy, as well as to elect the new leadership that will map out the course of the institution for the next couple of years.
In addition, there’ll be an open forum to discuss and assess the most outstanding issues of the country’s travel industry, especially those affecting the hotel sector.
