"We give our love and heart to Santiago"
Santiago de Cuba is ready to celebrate, on July 25, the 500th anniversary of its foundation by Governor Diego Velasquez, along with the Caribbean Festival, and the Excelencias Group has played an important role in these developments, by shedding more light on them.

As part of the main activities under way in Santiago de Cuba to mark the five centuries of its foundation, a number of publications were presented at the Salon de los Vitrales in the Major General Antonio Maceo Square.

Jose Carlos de Santiago, ambassador of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy (AIBG is the Spanish acronym) and driving force behind the Panamanian Gastronomy & Tourism Academy, visited the head office of Panama’s Tourism Authority to spell out the importance of the creation and opening of this institution.

The Excelencias Group is going to gather in Havana, June 22-24, the finest chefs, bartenders, maîtres, sommeliers and gastronomic workers from Cuba and other nations during the 5th Excelencias International Gastronomic Seminar Havana 2015, organized to debate on cuisine.

Paco Torreblanca sees what only a handful of people can see. His formation as a pastry chef and his devotion to study and nonstop learning provided him with knowledge and expertise. Yet his nitty-gritty character and sensitivity run in his blood, those spiritual things only the soul can carry. That’s why his pastries, chocolates and desserts don’t have an artistic touch because he simply makes art disguised in patisserie.
