Excelencias Group’s Editor-in-Chief and President Jose Carlos de Santiago has been given in Guayaquil, within the framework of the International Tourism Show in Ecuador, FITE, the First Gold Category Award to an International Publication for an article published on Excelencias Turísticas del Caribe y las Américas magazine on the Galapagos Islands. Excelencias Turísticas magazine is one of Excelencias Group’s products, which also features Viajes por Excelencias, Excelencias del Motor, Excelencias Gourmet and Arte por Excelencias.

The Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy has appointed Jose Carlos de Santiago, president and CEO of the Excelencias Group, as the institution’s ambassador to Hispanic America, a move that would entitle him to act on behalf of this institution in the creation and formalization of the Caribbean Gastronomy & Tourism Academy attached to the both the Iberian-American and the International Gastronomy academies.

In an effort to play a role in the development and advance of gastronomy in Cuba, professionals from several countries gathered this week at Havana’s Occidental Miramar to attend the third edition of the International Gastronomy Seminar “Excelencias Gourmet”.

A special moment for both celebration and cultural reflection was the delivery of the Excelencias Awards to the Tourism Ministry Delegation in Santiago de Cuba, the Casa del Caribe, the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power and the Office of the City Curator, held within the framework of the 15th anniversary of the Excelencias Group in Cuba. The function was coupled with the launch of issue 116 of the Excelencias magazine as part of the events during the Fiesta del Fuego celebration in Santiago de Cuba.
