CND has learned that America’s hotel giant Marriott Starwood is about to close a deal that would authorize the company to build its first hotel ever in Cuba.

The 97-year-old company last year sold the flagship New York Waldorf Astoria to the Chinese for $2bn, and is now considering launching a new chain of budget “hostel-like” hotels marketed at millennials.

Marriott International, Inc. together with Ian Schrager and the owner and developer, KKH Property Investors, announced their plans to open a new property in Barcelona, Spain in 2017, The Barcelona EDITION.

The Lazy Parrott Inn in Rincon Puerto Rico is for sale, and its price has been reduced to $3.25 million, according to Puerto Rico Sotheby’s International Realty, which has the listing on the property.

Sandals Resorts has recently debuted new upgrades at Sandals Royal Caribbean, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Negril and Sandals LaSource Grenada, adding in newly built spacious suites and debuting renovations that are now available for guests.

Puerto Rico’s newest hotel has officially opened its doors. The Hyatt Place San Juan/City Center debuted last week as the fourth Hyatt-branded hotel in Puerto Rico following a soft opening period.
