Spanish group Decameron plans to build two more four- and five-star resorts on the island of Boa Vista, in Cape Verde, adding 1,100 rooms to its network of 35 hotels, the Cape Verdean press reported.

Giving its Occidental, Allegro and Royal Hideaway brands a new lease on life, and tripling reservation volumes through its direct channels are two of Occidental Hotels & Resorts’ top priorities for the ongoing year as the hotel chain has announced the signing of a new management deal with Cuba.

The Pétionville suburb of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, has long been a tourism-friendly area, with a smattering of boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Now it is home to a Best Western Premier, the first of several of the hotelier’s upscale branded Caribbean properties.
