Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., announced the signing of a management agreement with “Grupo Hotelera Aguas Verdes S. A.” to manage the Villarrica Park Lake Hotel & Spa under The Luxury Collection brand. The property will undergo renovations to its rooms and spacious suites and will become a part of The Luxury Collection’s exclusive portfolio in December of 2010.
The Seven Stars Resort in the Turks & Caicos is making property-wide enhancements to its accommodations, service and prime location along Grace Bay Beach. The resort has expanded its beachfront outdoor bar to 3,000 square feet, accommodating up to 180 people. Other additions include a new elevated lounge with a second fire pit, live entertainment throughout the week, a new menu and daily complimentary cocktail tasting.
Choice Hotels International, Inc. continues to grow with the announcement of 24 newly opened franchised properties during the month of October. The openings include hotels in 14 states and two additional countries, adding more than 1,600 rooms to the company’s existing 490,000-plus rooms.

The Bahamas’ Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort is offering discounted rates on fall/winter travel to National Football League fans. For travelers who book a resort stay at Our Lucaya for travel between now and the end of the 2010-11 NFL season as part of a group of four, one member of the traveling party stays free. Bookings must be made by Feb. 4, 2011, and a three-night minimum stay, including a Sunday overnight, is required.
