Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa, the first luxury hotel to be built in Bermuda in more than 40 years, has entered into a letter of intent to bring Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in as its operator. The announcement was made by Ed Trippe, founder and president of Tucker’s Point, paving the way for the property to be re-branded as Rosewood Tucker’s Point.
Hard Rock International and Palace Resorts will unveil the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, following a recent transformation and renovation. The 121-acre property, located on Macao Beach, will open Nov. 1, 2010, as the first all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. A star-studded rock 'n' roll grand opening event is slated for January 2011.
Nov. 1, 2010 will see the re-opening of The Fairmont Royal Pavilion in Barbados, following a two-month renovation program. Set amidst eleven acres of gardens, the colonial-style resort will debut a new category of room – 24 900 square-foot Beachfront Junior Suites with private terraces overlooking the ocean.
Bermuda will soon welcome the luxury brand group Park Hyatt to its shores with the commitment of a $300 million investment into a new resort development. The Bermuda Department of Tourism has been working to bring the multi-million dollar project to fruition since 2007. Previously, Park Hyatt had agreed to manage the project, which is located on the former Club Med site in the historic town of St. George’s, Bermuda(a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Baha Mar Ltd. has signed a Letter of Intent with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to operate and manage the planned 700-room Grand Hyatt to be included as part the destination resort metropolis, Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Baha Mar Ltd. also selected Hyatt as its timeshare partner in the project, which will initially include 50 units as part of the first phase, with plans for expansion in subsequent phases.
