U.S. airlines have slashed leisure fares to Puerto Rico in recent months to lure travelers to the debt-strapped island, hit by economic turmoil and lately the arrival of the mosquito-borne Zika virus.

The NTA commends the U.S. Department of Transportation for its signing of an arrangement with Cuba to formally restore air service with the island.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has added Aruba and Bonaire to its list of countries and territories where Zika virus has been transmitted.

Aedes mosquitoes that spread the Zika virus are found throughout the world, meaning outbreaks could spread to new countries, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has stated.

European airline Air France-KLM has posted its first annual net profit since 2008. The carrier reported a net profit of €118 million for 2015, compared with a €225 million net loss the year before.
