European Hospitality giant Accor keeps up to first place in the Latin American top five while they are absent from the North American Ranking.

Growth in scheduled airline operations is showing some signs of slowing compared to earlier months this year, according to the latest statistics from OAG, a UBM Aviation brand. The OAG FACTS (Frequency and Capacity Trend Statistics) report for June reveals that global seat capacity will be 5 percent higher than the same month in 2010, or 16.1 million more seats, with 3 percent more flights.

The just-completed “Official” Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC) resulted in a variety of general session discussions in which optimism for the recovery of the hospitality and tourism industries was the reigning mood of the week. Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) President Josef Forstmayr took the opportunity to remind attendees of the huge importance that tourism plays in the overall economic stability of the Caribbean nations.
