After a very strong year in 2014, the Caribbean’s largest tourism destination is continuing its growth so far in 2015. The country saw a 7.4 percent increase in stayover visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2015.

The impressive representation of all of the key players in tourism and civil aviation in the region was regarded as testimony to the critical importance of the matters to be discussed and the urgency with which they need to be resolved.

The Expedia group, one of the world's largest online travel companies, on Thursday reported a banner year for the Dominican Republic in 2014, with a 45 percent increase in travel demand year over year.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) have reported a record high of 46,369 arrivals in the first quarter, or a13.9 percent increase over last year’s first quarter arrivals. The United States remained at the top market for a share of 39 percent of the total tourist arrivals.

 
 

The Curacao Tourist Board (CTB) has reported an additional 3,986 visitors in the third month of this year. Visitor arrivals in March 2015 increased by double digit growth of 11 percent compared to March 2014, continuing the positive development reported at the start of the year.

 
 
 

Tourist arrivals to Cuba jumped a whopping 15 percent in the first quarter of 2015 and the trend is expected to hold on for the rest of the year, the country's Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero said. Marrero called on the country's tourism industry to strive for excellence.
