Forward Keys, which monitors future travel patterns by analyzing ~70m booking transactions a day, is seeing 6.3 percent growth in bookings for international departures from Spain during the first quarter of 2015.

The Expedia group, one of the world's largest online travel companies, reported on Monday that travel demand garnered via the company’s platforms for the Caribbean region grew nearly 30 percent year over year during the first three quarters of 2014. The company also reports that the Dominican Republic remains the top producing market in the Caribbean.

Slews of Americans fired up their computers and mobile devices and typed in "Cuba" and "vacation" soon after President Barack Obama announced plans to normalize relations with the Caribbean country in December. Cuba has been officially off limits to American travelers for decades.

The total of 382,816 visitor air arrivals represented a 10.84 percent increase over the British Overseas Territory’s performance in 2014, according to data from the Department of Tourism. In fact, it was the best performance for the destination in more than 14 years. Cayman’s best month was December, which showed the best visitor arrival figures of any December since the year 2000.
