Haiti has revealed its plans for tourism development on the island of Ile a Vache. The Ministry of Tourism is proposing the eventual development of 1,500 units on the 52-square-kilometre island, which is located off the southeast coast of Les Cayes, as part of an across-the-board tourism project.

Tourism is an important driver of Tobago’s economy and will continue to be paramount in the transformation of the island, Secretary of Tourism and Transportation Assemblyman Tracy Davidson-Celestine has said. She added that all signs suggested the industry was once again gaining ground.

The Bahamas’ tourism plans for 2013 will include a variety of strategies, including a new digital platform and a visit to Latin America. The digital platform, according to Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe, will give visitors the ability to search for airlift, car rentals and hotels in the Bahamas.

The award-winning St. Kitts Tourism website is showing strong growth in a number of key areas as compared to last year, with website traffic for January 2013 reaching its highest levels to date.

T&T Minister of Tourism Stephen Cadiz has pledged his full support for the Tobago House of Assembly in the revival of Tobago’s tourism sector. He said that at Institutional Strengthening, Capacity Building and Strategic Planning program for stakeholders.
