The European Travel Commission (ETC) published its second quarterly report on European Tourism in 2011 -- Trends & Prospects. Travel to Europe continued to exhibit strong growth through May as indicated by industry and arrivals data. Nearly all destinations report growth in arrivals for the first three to five months of the year.

North American arrivals from January through April to the islands of Tahiti were up 57 percent with a total of 18,923 passengers. Land arrivals (excluding passengers visiting friends and family) for the same period increased to 41 percent with a total of 11,500 passengers.
