Compagnie du Ponant’s new L’Austral mega-yacht was launched at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona, Italy. L’Austral is the first of two luxury cruise ships ordered from Fincantieri by the French owner and is due to start service this fall.

The Los Cabos Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a new social media campaign, the “Two-Minute Vacation,” which aims to virtually transport travelers to the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula. Visitors will be able to escape the worries and stress of everyday life and experience Los Cabos through a series of seven two-minute videos posted on the Los Cabos Convention and Visitors Bureau’s official YouTube channel.
The Grenada Board of Tourism will once again offer its island-wide savings program to visitors traveling to Grenada this spring and fall. Originally introduced last year, the More Spice promotion has been revamped to offer travelers even more incentives to visit the “Spice of the Caribbean.”
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is forecasting its tourism industry for 2010, predicting that between 11.5 million to 12.5 million visitors will arrive, with S$12.6 billion ($9 billion) to S$13.3 billion ($9.52 billion) in tourism receipts. The optimistic forecast can be attributed to Singapore’s dramatic transformation as a result of multibillion-dollar investments in new tourism infrastructure.
The ClubHotel Riu Kaya and the hotel Riu Kaya Belek have opened their doors in Turkey. The resorts are located very close to the 18-hole Kaya Eagles golf course. The ClubHotel Riu Kaya features 346 rooms, including double rooms, family rooms and suites duplex. The hotel Riu Kaya Belek boasts 506 rooms, including doubles and suites.
