Mexico’s tourism revenue fell a relatively modest 7.9 percent in November from the year-ago month, the Bank of Mexico said Friday, an improvement for a sector that was hit simultaneously by the A/H1N1 influenza outbreak and the economic crisis.
Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett is projecting a 6 percent growth in tourism this year, almost twice the growth recorded in 2009. Mr. Bartlett made the announcement while speaking at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Marketplace 2010 Travel Trade event last week.
