A recent survey by Go City, the leading sightseeing and attraction pass brand, reveals what Americans are willing to sacrifice for the ideal vacation. Conducted by Talker Research among 2,000 U.S. travelers, the findings show that the "perfect" trip lasts 11 days, is at least three hours from home, and must include good food (52%), relaxation (47%), comfortable accommodations (38%), and access to landmarks and outdoor attractions (31%).

For most, the "perfect" vacation involves relaxing, making meaningful memories, and trying new experiences. Top destinations include a sunny beach (63%), natural escapes (53%), or historic cities (42%). While 86% of Americans need six or more days to fully unwind, 41% believe checking off bucket-list attractions is essential to achieving vacation perfection.

Despite high expectations, 88% of travelers are willing to give up comforts to enhance their trip. Common sacrifices include booking more expensive accommodations (33%), saving for months before travel (32%), or flying without extra legroom (28%). In return, they hope for upgraded rooms, more spending money for food and drinks, and VIP experiences like skip-the-line access or private tours.

However, even small issues can ruin a trip for many. 92% of respondents said that a single negative experience could spoil everything. The top spoilers are hidden costs (45%), travel delays (44%), bad weather (41%), and poor hotel location or comfort. Disappointing food and uncomfortable beds also rank high on the list of vacation dealbreakers.

Go City offers solutions to reduce travel stress through flexible attraction passes that simplify trip planning. With access to over 1,500 attractions in 25+ global destinations, Go City's digital passes help travelers save up to 50% compared to individual ticket purchases.
