Away Partners with WNBA All-Star Sabrina Ionescu to Usher in a New Era of Travel and Sport

Away, the award-winning brand redefining modern travel, has announced a multi-year partnership with New York Liberty guard and four-time WNBA All-Star Sabrina Ionescu. The collaboration marks the first-ever partnership between a WNBA player and a luggage brand, reinforcing Away’s commitment to championing women’s sports.

Recognized as one of the league’s most dynamic players, Ionescu is celebrated for her precision, leadership, and cultural influence. Her pioneering spirit makes her a natural fit for Away, complementing the brand’s broader partnership with the New York Liberty. Together, they aim to showcase how performance and innovation—whether on the court or in travel—can inspire communities and create lasting impact.

As part of the collaboration, Ionescu and Away will launch a limited-edition luggage collection in 2026, co-create community initiatives through her SI20 Foundation supporting young athletes, and equip the Liberty roster with Away gear throughout the season.

The announcement builds on Away’s existing partnership with the New York Liberty, which named the brand its Official Luggage Partner in May 2025. The collaboration comes at a time of record momentum for women’s sports, with the Liberty making another push for the WNBA playoffs. Since the launch, Away has engaged fans through in-game activations, digital campaigns, and community events.

Away’s legacy in sports includes partnerships with Serena Williams, Dwyane Wade, and a sponsorship of the Wildcard entry at the F1 Academy race in Abu Dhabi. The new partnership with Ionescu represents the next step in celebrating excellence and redefining the connection between travel and sport.
