France Reports Another Strong Year in Tourism for 2025
France’s tourism sector has delivered another strong performance in 2025, contributing an estimated 8 % to national GDP and benefiting from robust international arrivals, campgrounds, and accommodation stays.
The latest annual industry report highlights that international tourism revenue grew by 9 % year-on-year and is now significantly above 2019 levels, cementing France’s appeal as a global destination. Expanded offerings in both urban and rural regions boosted overall visitor engagement.
Paris, coastal resorts along the Mediterranean and Atlantic, and mountain destinations all reported growing numbers of travelers. A notable trend is the rise in diverse lodging options, including traditional hotels, campgrounds with upgraded facilities, and short-term rentals.
Campgrounds, in particular, saw 148 million overnight stays, marking robust growth and reflecting a broader shift toward outdoor and nature-oriented tourism experiences, especially among European visitors.
While luxury hotels performed well, smaller city accommodations faced uneven results, prompting calls for investment in infrastructure and rural hospitality to support balanced growth across regions.
Tourism leaders are now looking to build on the momentum in early 2026, with major global events, improved air connectivity, and enhanced destination marketing expected to sustain international interest.
