Caribbean Weekend Conference to Unite Regional Tourism Leaders in Miami
The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is hosting its high-profile “Caribbean Weekend” conference in Miami from December 4–8, bringing together ministers, tourism directors, and private-sector stakeholders. The event reflects a renewed commitment to resilience, recovery, and long-term regional growth.
The gathering will include business sessions, committee meetings, and strategic policy discussions aimed at shaping the future of tourism across Caribbean islands. Key themes include innovation, sustainability, and destination development.
Among the flagship events is a “Reimagining Caribbean Tourism Together” summit, scheduled to take place aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, where thought leaders will explore fresh approaches to economic development and community inclusion.
The CTO will also host a holiday dinner and fundraising night, in partnership with its Allied Members, to support communities still recovering from Hurricane Melissa, especially in Jamaica and Haiti.
The event will feature a Knowledge Exchange Kiosk, where participants can access research, case studies, and best practices focused on innovation and disaster resilience in tourism.
CTO Secretary-General Dona Regis-Prosper has said the conference underscores the region’s ongoing solidarity and collective ambition: “Our recovery is not just physical—it’s also about rethinking how we grow.”
For Caribbean destinations, the conference represents a vital platform to deepen collaboration, mobilize investments, and align tourism strategy with shared social, economic and environmental goals.
