The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Education Foundation (CHTAEF) has officially kicked off its Spring Caribbean Travel Auction, now live for bidding until 4:00 PM on May 15.

With more than US$145,000 in prizes donated by over 40 hotels and resorts across the Caribbean, this highly anticipated fundraiser offers winning bidders the chance to enjoy unforgettable stays at luxury resorts, boutique hotels, and ecolodges throughout the region.

Participating properties span a wide range of destinations, including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, The Bahamas, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Curaçao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Suriname, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

All proceeds from the auction directly fund the Foundation’s transformative programs that support the development and success of Caribbean hospitality professionals. The funds raised will contribute to professional development opportunities across all career levels.

One of the flagship initiatives supported by the auction is the Caribbean Professional Development Program, a new collaboration with Les Roches, one of the world’s premier hospitality management schools. This program provides participants with the tools, knowledge, and credentials needed to step into senior leadership positions within two to three years—without stepping away from their current roles.

Also funded by the auction is the Caribbean Employee Empowerment Program, which delivers on-island training focused on operational excellence and customer service. Since launching in 2019, this initiative has reached more than 2,500 hospitality employees across more than a dozen Caribbean nations.

Proceeds will also benefit the Foundation’s General Scholarship Program, which helps aspiring Caribbean hospitality leaders pursue studies at top global institutions like Cornell University, Culinary Institute of America, Florida International University, Johnson & Wales University, Les Roches, Monroe College, and the University of the West Indies.

“Our Caribbean Travel Auction is once again made possible by the generosity of hotels throughout our dynamic region,” said Karolin Troubetzkoy, Chairwoman of CHTAEF. “This essential fundraiser, strengthened by the loyal support of our strategic partners and sponsors, enables programs that deeply impact the future of Caribbean tourism and its professionals.”

For nearly 40 years, the annual auction has not only boosted the region’s hospitality sector, but also provided travelers with the opportunity to explore the beauty and diversity of the Caribbean.
