The Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, signed on Tuesday collaboration and intention agreements with representatives of tour operators, airline and cruise agencies based in the U.S. state of Florida to strengthen relations between the Dominican Republic and these companies, in order to attract more tourists to the country.

During meetings held in downtown Miami, the official signed eight agreements to close vacation package promotions, marketing campaigns, among other actions that will continue to promote the entry of American tourists to the Dominican Republic.

"Florida is a highly important market for our country, and the agencies that operate here are vital to continue improving the flow of tourists from the United States to our country," said Collado.

Minister Collado informed that they will work together with the cruise industry so that there will be more and more vessels of this type making stops in the Dominican Republic.

He explained to the different agencies that the Dominican Republic is the only destination in the region where 100% of the employees of the tourism sector are fully vaccinated with two doses, and that it has the lowest incidence rate of contagion in tourist resorts, making the country a safe destination for travel.

Collado met with representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), Gool Travel, PunCana, Best Deal Vacations, Top Vacations, HotelBeds, Risa Travel, among others.

Minister Collado is completing a three-day work agenda in New York City where he also met with Dominican authorities in the city and will host a grand reception for New York State travel agents and tour operators.
