Thailand's tourism industry is facing upheaval due to ongoing border conflict with Cambodia, reportedly losing nearly 3 billion baht ($92.6 million) every month as a result of cancellations and closures.

Over 5,000 hotel reservations were cancelled nationwide, and several key tourist attractions near border zones remain shuttered amid safety concerns.

Tourism Minister Sorawong Thienthong emphasized the severity of the impact and the pressing need for resolution to halt further economic deterioration.

Despite the conflict, Thailand continues to welcome over 1 million Indian tourists by mid‑2025—an important recovery milestone fueled by sustained ties with key markets.

However, the conflict threatens to overshadow gains made by improved access and promotional efforts, especially among budget and leisure travelers.

Industry leaders are now calling for urgency in diplomatic mediation, destination diversification efforts, and stronger crisis communication to support confidence in Thailand's broader travel appeal.
