Tourism and Society Think Tank Presented To-Dos Calendar in Miami
Within the framework of the World Travel Expo - Miami (United States), held at the Airport Convention Center, the upcoming activities and programs that the Tourism and Society Think Tank will develop in several countries in America, Europe and Africa have been presented.
With the presence of the president of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, Mr. Antonio Santos and the vice-president of the Governing Committee, Mr. Juan Maqueda (CEO of LatamOne), and accompanied by local authorities and businessmen, several of the upcoming activities have been presented and actions that this institution is going to celebrate in several countries of America, Europe and Africa.
Among the activities presented, the following stand out:
Antigua Guatemala venue of the celebration of the "TSTT Meetings"
At the press conference, Mr. Santos highlighted that one of the "TSTT Meetings" will be held in the city of Antigua Guatemala in October, where international experts together with leaders of the national and local tourism industry will exchange experiences. and proposals on issues related to the relationship between tourism, culture and heritage and whose themes are aligned with the city's tourism policy.
In this important event, the international promotion of the city of Antigua Guatemala will be one of the objectives of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, whose programmed activities will be broadcast by videoconference to the whole world, while institutional and commercial relations are developed between participants.
“TSTT- Directo”, conference cycle or line (streaming)
The activity called 'TSTT- Directo', conference cycle or line (streaming), and whose objective is to provide a scenario for knowledge, dialogue and debate, with the participation of international experts to reflect on significant tourism issues, was also highlighted. and other transversal ones such as innovation, training, labor information and others, and it is a pedagogical proposal that emphasizes three large areas: tourism, innovation and development.
The 'TSTT- Directo' conference cycle will be held every fortnight from September 14 to December 20, 2023.
“Americas Tourism Summit – Tourism Summit of the Americas”
Likewise, the international congress called "Americas Tourism Summit - Tourism Summit of the Americas" was advanced, which is being developed in collaboration with the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom, belonging to Florida International University.
The objective of this important event is to convene the ministers, authorities of tourist and commercial companies, and financial entities that help for the development of the Americas in order to design policies, coordinated tourism and commercial strategies, specify the priorities of the tourism sector to sustainable development and economic growth of the countries that make up the geographic space of the Americas, as well as developing and promoting an action plan for the tourism sector that encourages investment attraction
In this important event where the authorities and leaders of tourism from the countries of America will participate, institutions and companies from Spain, Portugal, France and other countries with important cultural and commercial ties with the Americas will be invited.
Likewise, the Forum of the Americas will be presented, an independent institution that brings together the efforts and initiatives of the countries and leaders of the tourism industry and that intends to collaborate with the efforts made by the different actors that participate in tourism development and, with an activity constant, which allows the generation of spaces for the analysis of the situation and trends at the regional and global level to face the challenges that arise; the choice of strategies to take advantage of the tourism potential of the Americas, as well as the adoption of institutionalized public-private partnerships for the social, economic and cultural development of the countries through the promotion of good practices that allow stimulating the growth of tourism activity and social development, based on the design and implementation of public policies.
In the same way, we want to promote the exploratory-descriptive study of a qualitative type on the institutional capacities that tourism management has to promote the design, development and implementation of tourism policies in the different territories, while allowing and/or consolidate a permanent work (observatory) on the development of tourist activity in the continent as well as in preparation for the annual Congress.
