Azul S.A. and GOL airlines have announced a significant commercial cooperation agreement to connect their flight networks in Brazil through a comprehensive codeshare agreement. Effective from the end of June, this partnership will integrate their domestic routes, expanding access to over 150 destinations and offering customers extensive flight connectivity.

The codeshare agreement will enable Azul and GOL to cover routes operated exclusively by one airline but not the other, maximizing the reach of their combined networks. Additionally, members of Azul Fidelidade and GOL’s Smiles frequent flyer programs will have the flexibility to earn points in their preferred program when purchasing codeshare flights.

“This agreement brings enormous benefits to our customers. With Azul's highly connected network serving most cities in Brazil and GOL's strong presence in the main Brazilian markets, our complementary offerings will provide customers with the widest range of travel options,” said Abhi Shah, President of Azul.

Starting at the end of June, consumers will enjoy enhanced travel options available through both airlines' sales channels. The partnership promises hundreds of new domestic routes and more convenient connections. For instance, travelers will be able to journey from Brasília to Tabatinga with a brief layover in Manaus, or from Rio de Janeiro to Marabá with a stop in Belém.

“GOL and Azul have always been dedicated to expanding the Brazilian aviation market. This codeshare agreement will provide customers with even more travel options across our country. GOL already has over 60 commercial agreements with various global airline partners, and we are eager to extend these benefits within Brazil,” said Celso Ferrer, CEO of GOL.

Combined, Azul and GOL operate approximately 1,500 daily departures. This strategic partnership will generate over 2,700 travel opportunities with just one connection, significantly enhancing the travel experience for passengers across Brazil.
