JetBlue Airways plans to open its first airport lounges next year, starting at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. The move is aimed at attracting premium travelers, positioning JetBlue to compete with larger airlines like American, Delta, and United.

The 8,000-square-foot lounge at JFK is set to open in late 2025, followed by an 11,000-square-foot lounge at Boston Logan. Access will be primarily for top-tier TrueBlue frequent-flyer members and holders of a new premium JetBlue-branded credit card, with day passes available based on space.

JetBlue’s head of marketing, Jayne O’Brien, explained that these lounges are part of the airline’s strategy to enhance its service for premium leisure travelers on the East Coast. "Now is the right time to offer these extra benefits to our most valuable customers," she said.

The airline has not disclosed the cost of building and maintaining the lounges but noted that this is a significant step in improving its premium services. JetBlue will evaluate the possibility of adding more lounges at other airports based on the success of the JFK and Boston locations.

JetBlue’s initiative mirrors moves by Delta and United, which have seen growing revenue from premium passengers, highlighting the competitive landscape in the airline industry.
