Ecuador to Be the FITUR Partner Country in 2024

The Minister of Tourism of Ecuador, Niels Olsen and the President of the Executive Committee of IFEMA MADRID, José Vicente de los Mozos, have signed this morning the collaboration agreement by which Ecuador will be a 'FITUR Partner Country' in the next edition of the International Tourism Fair, which will be held in January 2024. This alliance has been announced during the celebration of FITUR 2023, which, organized by IFEMA MADRID, has been taking place since last Wednesday, January 18 at the Fairgrounds.

Also present at the event were the Undersecretary of Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, Santiago Granda; the director of Promotion and Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, Ana Beatriz Ontaneda; the Director General of IFEMA MADRID, Juan Arrizabalaga, and the Director of FITUR, María Valcarce.

The presence of Ecuador as a 'Partner Country of FITUR 2024 represents a strategic way of promoting and positioning the country internationally, given the scope and projection enjoyed by one of the most prestigious tourism fairs in the world with a continuous trajectory of more than four decades, and an extraordinary ability to attract professionals from the five continents. A collaboration, therefore, that will allow Ecuador, as a tourist destination, to optimize the potential for promotion and projection that FITUR offers, worldwide.

According to the President of IFEMA MADRID “FITUR is the most important tourism fair for the Ibero-American market and the one that mobilizes the most professionals worldwide. From IFEMA MADRID we are proud of this leadership and we want to make the biggest fair in history in 2024”. In this context, I emphasize that "Ecuador will form a privileged part of the wide array of activities scheduled during the fair, and will project its brand together with FITUR's, participating in the positioning and communication strategy that the Fair will carry out internationally throughout from 2023 to January 2024, and that will reinforce the tourist values ​​of Ecuador”  

The Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen, highlighted the importance of this alliance that will give Ecuador access to the graphic and digital advertising platforms exhibited at the IFEMA MADRID venue, organizer of the Fair. "We are very excited about this opportunity to make our country visible through IFEMA MADRID's communication channels, which will give us greater exposure to the world."

The Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador participates in FITUR 2023 exposing the country's tourism offer and strengthening commercial relations with the main players in the sector. The country's stand (3E11) is attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and is completed with a total of 20 co-exhibitors, who work to position the destination in one of its priority markets. During the first three days of the fair, the Ecuadorian authorities and businessmen have maintained an intense agenda of meetings with the heads of the main trade agents and have offered interviews to the most influential Spanish media on the national scene.

The tourist diversity of Ecuador is represented at the FITUR 2023 stand through an endless number of cultural and gastronomic representations capable of transporting its visitors to the four worlds of the country. The Amazon, which demonstrates the natural wealth of the area and makes the country the most diverse per square kilometer in the world; the Pacific Coast, where the warm climate, the beaches and the big waves are the main attractions; the Sierra, where the imposing Andes Mountains are located, as well as Quito, the capital of the country and the first city in Latin America to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; and the Galapagos Islands, which arouse the interest of many thanks to its marine fauna and its black beaches that reveal the volcanic origin of the island.
