MGM Resorts International and Marriott International announced plans to convert a well-known Las Vegas Strip property into W Las Vegas, part of the Marriott Bonvoy® portfolio. The new hotel, expected to open by the end of 2024, is the latest project in the strategic licensing agreement between the two hospitality giants, which began in July 2023.

Steve Zanella, President of MGM Resorts Operations, praised the collaboration, highlighting the power of Marriott’s brand and its distribution channels. W Las Vegas will offer a unique luxury lifestyle experience, combining dynamic programming with elevated service, enhancing MGM's offerings on the Strip.

Leeny Oberg, Marriott's Chief Financial Officer and EVP, Development, expressed excitement about the ongoing partnership, emphasizing W Hotels' ability to enhance travel experiences in Las Vegas through its bold design and vibrant nightlife appeal. This project continues to broaden the hospitality and entertainment options available through their collaboration.

Since the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy launched in March 2024, bookings have surpassed projections. The partnership allows Marriott Bonvoy members to access MGM properties and enjoy exclusive benefits, while MGM Rewards members can receive perks at Marriott’s 9,000 global properties.

W Las Vegas will be located on the Mandalay Bay campus, further expanding the MGM Collection’s presence on the Strip, which already includes properties such as Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan. Additional plans for W Las Vegas will be revealed in the coming months.
