Cruise Holidays Releases 2007 Travel Trends Survey
Based on precise booking data, Cruise Holidays has revealed trends in the average cost of today’s most popular cruises, including those to Alaska, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. This information is contained in the final results of the 2007 Cruise Holidays Travel Trends Survey.
The survey tracked actual bookings made by Cruise Holidays stores in the U.S. and Canada during the first quarter of 2007 and is supplemented with information and perceptions of Cruise Holidays’ franchise owners.
The average cost of the most popular itineraries is $234 per person, per night on a seven-day Alaska cruise, for a total of $1,638 per person; $158 per person, per night on a seven-day Caribbean cruise for a total of $1,106 per person, double; and $250 per person, per night for a 12-Day Mediterranean cruise for a total of $3,000 per person double.
The average booking window is less than one month for 5.58 percent of Cruise Holidays stores, one to three months for 20.6 percent of the stores, four to five months for 20.96 percent of the stores, six to eight months for 27.61 percent of the stores, nine to 11 months for 16.71 percent of the stores and more than 11 months for 8.53 percent of the stores.
