All Set for Nicaragua´s Second Tourism Convention

“For a Clean and Safe Nicaragua” is the slogan of the Second National Tourism Convention that will stretch from August 11 to 12 this year, said Tomas Borges, chairman of the Nicaraguan Parliament´s Tourism Commission.

The conclave will get going at the San Francisco Convent in Granada, a city that´s close to celebrating its 480th birthday.

Mr. Borges made the announcement sitting next to members of the convention´s organizing committee that he also presides over. The commission also counts on the participation of the country´s Chamber of Tourism and the National Tourism Institute.

According to Mr. Borges, the event will draw attendants from Central America and the Caribbean, as well as some boldface names like show biz star Ruben Blades, now vested as Panama´s Tourism Minister, and former Guatemalan President Vinicio Cerezo.

Mr. Borges went on to explain the national tourism convention will come around on a yearly basis.
