American Airlines Resumes Nonstop Flights from Miami to Antigua After 10 Years

American Airlines has recommenced its daily non stop services from Miami to Antigua after nearly ten years. Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Harold Lovell, General Manager of the Antigua Hotel and Tourist Association Neil Forrester were on Saturday’s flight which touched down at the VC Bird International Airport shortly after 1.30 pm.

Spencer said that the re-introduction of the flight is an important one for the country’s tourism and added that it demonstrates a recommitment by the airline to work with Antigua and Barbuda.

The Antigua Sun reported that Cathy-Ann Edwards, the airline’s local Country Manager announced that between September and October, the airline will provide weekend nonstop service to Miami. The flight goes daily as of 2 November. American Eagle will continue to provide daily service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, she added.
