BA to Move More Flights to Terminal 5 Starting June 5
British Airways will relocate about a quarter of its Terminal 4 schedule of flights into the new Terminal 5 on June 5, according to the carrier and the British Airports Authority.
The shift will affect services to and from eight long-haul destinations, including New York and Phoenix in the U.S. The other six are Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria; Bangalore, India; Beijing; Cairo, Egypt; and Cape Town, South Africa.
BA operates eight daily flights to New York Kennedy and daily services on the other routes.
These services were to have been relocated on April 30 in a second phase of relocations to BA’s new terminal. However, because the initial move on March 27 was so riddled with problems, all further moves were temporarily put on hold.
Additional long-haul services will remain at Terminal 4 until a third migration phase, which will occur “as soon as is practicable,” said Colin Matthews, BAA chief executive.
