Barcelo, Iberostar and RIU, three Spanish hotel chains with successful operations in the Caribbean and the Americas, have cashed in on the timeframe of FITUR 2005 -the travel and tourism tradeshow going on in Madrid- to present its new lodgings and expectations for the coming years.

With a 146-square-yard stand at the Madrid tradeshow, Barceló is showing off its new establishments in Europe and Latin America. Ten of the new resorts will be in Spain, while the rest are scattered in Bulgaria´s Sofia, Poland´s Warsaw, Cuba´s Varadero, and two other in Mexico´s Mayan Riviera.

Barcelo has also taken advantage of FITUR 2005 to advertise the Barceló Business Club, a program that provides major benefits for the chain´s city hotels and will only target business travelers for the time being.

Furthermore, the company also launched the Barcelo Hotels & Resorts Corporate Inventory that contains the main features of the chain´s establishments around the world.

For its part, RIU Hotels will open its first resort in Cape Verde on September this year, the five-star, 500-room all-inclusive RIU Funama Club Hotel.

Iberostar stands out in Pavilion 10 with a 400-square-yard stand that features a bar and four meeting halls where four stewards are permanently waiting on visitors who come to sit down with representatives from its groups (Iberostar, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, and Iberoservice).

The group headed by Miguel Fluxa has come to FITUR with the company´s latest additions, including a dozen new resorts that will open in 2005. Reps from Iberostar are making the most of their contacts and business meetings with tour operators and travel agents.
