Barceló Stages Fall Celebrations at Dominican Republic Resorts

Barceló Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, have packed their fall calendars full of exciting activities for guests of all ages. The fall celebration begins Oct. 14, 2010 at Barceló Punta Cana Resort’s Oktoberfest and lasts through Nov. 27, 2010 when Barceló Punta Cana hosts International Single Week.

Guests can celebrate Oktoberfest in style at Barceló Punta Cana’s all-inclusive resort Thursday, Oct. 14 through Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. Thursday’s events include: an arts & crafts exhibition, a Bavarian folk singing “jodel” contest, a spectacular show in the magnificent new theatre located at the resort’s entrance and a welcome night in the nightclub including live music and dancing the night away.

Friday is full of events to showcase guests’ talents or take in some entertainment. The Beer Barrel Race starts the day’s fun followed by a dart tournament, cocktail demonstrations and exhibitions, a beer drinking competition, a Star Night show in the theatre and a Tropical Party in the nightclub.

On Saturday, guests can start the morning off with a football tournament on the beach followed by a kayak poolside race. There’s a club dance in the beer garden and cigar-making demonstrations. Saturday night features a beach party in the sand and farewell bash in the nightclub. Oktoberfest fun continues at the Barceló Dominican Beach Hotel Oct. 21 through Oct. 23,2010.

For Halloween Day, Oct. 31, Barcelo guests can wear their most creative costumes and bring their families to Barceló beachfront hotels & resorts in the Dominican Republic for some Halloween treats. Guests can decorate Halloween cookies, showcase their skills in a pumpkin-carving contest and dine on the special Halloween buffet. The Barcy Kids Club will host a make-up class for kids  and the whole family can enjoy a Halloween production, best costume contest and Halloween party.

Each hotel is offering guests the chance to win a grand prize of a complimentary week’s stay for the best costume in the contest. In addition to these specially crafted events, Barceló regularly offers a host of kid-friendly amenities including a Kid’s Club, mini disco, playground and pool.

Join Barceló Punta Cana Resort in welcoming the delegates of the 2010 Miss Intercontinental Pageant for a celebration of beauty and culture spanning the week of Oct. 29 through Nov. 6, 2010. The week begins with a kick-off Beach Party open for all Punta Cana guests to mix and mingle. On Nov. 1, a poolside fashion show will be hosted for guests to catch the season’s hottest looks strutting down the catwalk.

To culminate the week’s events, the 2010 Miss Intercontinental Pageant will be telecast from the Barceló Punta Cana’s grand Taino Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Those staying at Barceló Punta Cana Resort are invited as honored guests of the event with half price admission, allowing them to witness the crowning of the 2010 Miss Intercontinental. A coronation ball will follow the pageant.

Tickets for the telecast and the coronation ball are available through Reception at the Barceló Punta Cana Resort. Entrance to the telecast is $10 per person for resort guests and $20 per person standard. VIP tickets including VIP seating and entrance to the coronation ball are $50 per person. The dress code is formal/elegant.

Single travelers can head down to Barceló Punta Cana Resort Sunday, Nov. 21 through Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 to meet other singles from around the world during International Single Week. From outdoor activities to theme parties, Barceló Punta Cana Resort has planned events to keeping guests moving all week long. Guests should be sure to pack something stunning in white for Sunday night’s white beach party. They can show their fun and creative side with a themed outfit of their choice for the Hawaiian party, Pajama party and finally the Saturday night Hippie party.
