Boeing 737 Aircraft Goes Down in Havana
A Boeing 737 aircraft leased by Cubana de Aviación to Mexican company Damojh went down Friday morning shortly after taking off from the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.
Preliminary information revealed that the plane fell down somewhere between Boyeros and Santiago de las Vegas, two locations in the outskirts of the Cuban capital.
Sources from the Cuban Ministry of Transportation said the aircraft carried a foreign crew and 104 passengers aboard.
Rescue forces are currently on the premises.Up to this minute, authorities have reported three survivors who were whisked off to a nearby hospital and remain in critical condition.
Authorities have informed that the Jose Marti International Airport remains open and operational.
Damojh is a Mexican airlines run by Global Air and founded in Guadalajara in 1990. The company serves charter flight service in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
