Cayman Islands Offers Summer Splash Specials
The Cayman Islands are offering their Summer Splash travel deals for families traveling between June 1 and Sept. 7. With this year’s Summer Splash promotion, Kid’s Fly Free on Cayman Airways and stay, eat, and play free at some of the destination’s best hotels, restaurants and attractions.
Children (one child per paying adult) will fly free from any Cayman Airways gateway city –New York, Miami and Tampa. Cayman Summer Splash packages can be booked through Sept. 2 by visiting www.caymanislands.ky. Kids are defined as children 11 years and younger.
Highlights of the 2009 Cayman Summer Splash promotion include: Kids fly free on Cayman Airways; in participating hotels and condos clients book five nights, pay for four; kids stay free in room with adult; kids enter specific attractions free with a paying adult; kids (12 to 17 years) dive free; families can pre-purchase a four-day dive package and get 50 percent off a night dive; minimum 20 percent off car rentals at participating partners; and kids eat for free from the children’s menu when one adult pays for their meal at participating restaurants.
Part of Cayman Summer Splash this year is a world-class skateboarding program called Skate Cayman, the first of its kind in the Caribbean. Skate Cayman is a brand new internationally recognized skateboard camp in the Cayman Islands at Black Pearl Skate & Surf Park (the world’s second-largest skate park) that will bring top skateboarders from around the globe to the island to assist with instruction and provide exciting demos. Skate Cayman will offer families, especially those with children who are skateboard enthusiasts, yet another reason to travel this summer.
Another component of this year’s Summer Splash is Sir Turtle’s Sea School, back by popular demand. Held at Boatswain’s Beach, Sea School is a free afternoon program for kids ages 5 to 11 that gives children (and their parents) a chance to learn about marine life, historic shipwrecks, and Caymanian heritage and culture. At Sir Turtle’s Sea School, kids can participate in hands-on activities such as arts and crafts projects, interactive storytelling, treasure hunts, marine ecology lessons, and even holding turtles.
