Central, South American Hotel Development Pipeline Includes 242 Hotels

There are currently 242 hotels in the development pipeline in Central and South America, according to an STR report. Panama City, Panama reported 3,186 rooms in the “total active pipeline” the most of any city across the two regions.

The “total active pipeline” does not include projects in the pre-planning stage. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1,721 rooms); Bogota, Colombia (1,051); Santiago, Chile (756); and Lima, Peru (600) also reported more than 500 rooms in the total active pipeline.
