Coco Reef Tobago Wins Hotel Award

For the fourth consecutive year, Coco Reef Resort & Spa in Tobago received the 2011 World Travel Award for the “Caribbean’s Leading Hotel”.

Bermuda hotelier and owner of Coco Reef Resorts Ltd., John Jefferies accepted the award at the ceremony held at the Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Coco Reef Resorts also owns sister property Coco Reef in Paget, Bermuda.

The awards, described by The Wall Street Journal as the “Oscars” of the global travel and tourism industry, revealed who are the “best of the best” in the world according to 183,000 travel, tourism and hospitality professionals across the globe.

Graham Cooke, President and Founder of the World Travel Awards, said: “The past year has brought significant challenges to the travel industry. Increased tax on long haul travel, a major economic turndown and a significant reduction in tourism spending have all impacted travel and tourism worldwide.

Coco Reef – Bermuda opened in 2004 and consists of 70 rooms situated on a beachfront location. The hotel features an atrium lobby, two restaurants and exotic private dining facilities.
