This is the first time ever a Gastronomy Academy is opened in Cuba. It was officially instituted as the first one of its kind in the Caribbean, with the words expressed by the chief editor of Excelencias Group, José Carlos de Santiago.

José Carlos thanked the presence of delegations, tour operators, presidents of hotel groups, every people who believed in this project.

The leader of Excelencias Group referred to the Academy as the institution that puts together a group of specialists to rigorously assess the work of professionals in this sector.

He also said that the Academy will provide support and advisory to Cuban professionals so the island would stand as a benchmark in terms of culinary quality.

She added up that it is very important to pay tribute to the work carried out by specialists in this sector.
