Cuban Tourism Fair Comes to a Close with Largest Attendance Ever

With the attendance of over 2,000 representatives of 55 nations, the largest attendance ever, the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2016 came to an end in Havana after fruitful exchange among entrepreneurs and other professionals dedicated to the tourist sector.

The event was hosted by the Morro-Cabana cultural complex, on the western end of Havana harbor, where the major Cuban tourist companies promoted services and products at the world market. In the local scenario, the emerging private sector presented their accommodation and catering services, which is crucial complement to the official tourist offer.
 
The fair was dedicated to the Cuban cultural product as an attraction aimed at an increasing number of tourists who are picking the island as their holiday destination, particularly from countries like Canada, Germany, Spain, France, the U.K., Mexico and the U.S.
 
According to latest statistics, over one and a half million visitors have already visited the island this year, which stands for 13.5 percent over same period of 2015.
 
The event was of high motivation for entrepreneurs, tour-operators and travel agencies from other nations.
