Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo Resort Offers Golf Packages

The Dominican Republic-based luxury resort Casa de Campo is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its iconic Teeth of the Dog golf course, among the Caribbean’s most famous. The Pete Dye-designed 18-hole course was ranked as the Caribbean’s top course in and at number 47 worldwide in Golf magazine’s September 2011 Top 100 Courses issue.

The seaside course was built from rugged Dominican coral rock by hand-powered tools. During construction, the crew referred to the unforgiving land as “Dientes del Perro,” or “Teeth of the Dog,” and the name stuck. To celebrate the anniversary, Casa de Campo is offering a “Big Break” package for travel through Dec. 20. Golfers can also enjoy a selection of golf-inclusive and bed and breakfast packages for 2012 travel between Jan. 4 and Dec. 19.
