Each venue has made their debut on the sandy shorelines of Costa Rica’s Peninsula Papagayo. Imagined by Texas-based design firm Paul Duesing Partners, the new outlets have come to life under the auspices of Executive Chef Mario Alcocer, Chef Dario Montelvere and Chef Mario Brennes with dessert offerings crafted by the Resort’s Pastry Chef Emmanuel Bay.
Cena Sociale Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar specializes in modern Italian cuisine made from the freshest local and organic ingredients. Inspired by the Mediterranean and the Amalfi Coast of Italy, Chef Dario Montelvere proudly showcases an innovative tapas-style menu of homemade pastas, gourmet pizzettes, locally-sourced produce and the freshest seafood from Puntarenas, Costa Rica located on the Pacific Ocean.
Signature items include yellowfin tuna crudo served with avocado mousse, EVOO and lemon zest as well as Grandma’s Lasagne Bolognese straight from Chef Dario’s Nonna’s kitchen. The culinary experience continues with a modern twist on the dessert menu, featuring a harmonious blend of traditional Italian flavours matched with 15 new gelato flavours developed exclusively by Chef Emmanuel Bay.
As part of Cena Sociale’s modern Italian ambiance, the restaurant also features a stylish and extensive Wine Bar. The 13-seat bar features a unique wine dispensing kiosk, allowing wine enthusiasts to pair their wine perfectly or sit back and sip and savuor at their own pace.
Setting the stage for a perfect evening with live music nightly and extensive offerings, Sol y Sombra Latin Market & Seafood Grill captures the rich and exotic flavours of South America through the eyes of Chef Pablo Brenes. Set alfresco, guests enjoy panoramic ocean views from the Resort’s two beaches by day or starry-lit skies in the evening.
