Hilton Hotels & Resorts rebranded the former Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza in Puerto Rico’s capital city as The Condado Plaza Hilton. Designed by architect Morris Lapidus, the 571-room hotel was inaugurated in 1963 as the Condado Plaza. The property was revamped and redesigned in 2008 and branded as a Hilton property in 2009.

The new name represents the “significant value placed on the hotel's heritage on the island” and Hilton's history in Puerto Rico, said Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Hilton Worldwide.

"Puerto Rico holds special significance to Hilton Hotels & Resorts, as Hilton International was launched with the opening of the Caribe Hilton, San Juan in 1949, said Hughes. “We are proud to re-connect this hotel with its roots, both as The Condado Plaza and as a member of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.”

The Condado Plaza Hilton is the only San Juan hotel that overlooks both the Atlantic Ocean and the Condado Lagoon.
