InterContinental Hotels Group to Open Holiday Inn in Quito
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open a Holiday Inn hotel in Quito, Ecuador in 2016, the company announced. The 130-room, four-story Holiday Inn Quito Airport will feature a modern facade and design, and be located within 22 miles of Quito’s city center and one mile from the city’s new Mariscal Sucre International Airport.
The property will be designed to accommodate corporate and leisure travelers seeking accommodations close to the airport. The hotel will feature maximum sound insulation to minimize airport noise, along with on-site amenities including an indoor swimming pool, restaurant, fitness center and 6,000 square feet of meeting space. Surrounded by the Andes Mountains, Quito is a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring one of the best-preserved historic city centers in the Americas.
The hotel will be owned by BPO Asesores Empresariales S.A., which also owns the Holiday Inn Guayaquil Airport opening later this year. IHG operates 42 Holiday Inn hotels and Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
